Nicole brings 19 years of experience as a Medical Educator in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at Griffith University. She has been involved in the writing, implementation, and facilitation of Problem Based Learning and Communication Skills to enhance the training of medical professionals.
Nicole has promoted, resourced, and coordinated Inter-Professional Learning (IPL) across a number of Allied Health Professions at Griffith University. She is passionate about an interdisciplinary approach to improve health care and has devised pedagogy and curriculum to bring health care students together, to train and improve the communication skills between professionals and patients.
Her background in higher education, health promotion and secondary teaching is integral to the success of the ConnectedLE Lived Experience Model. She values interactive educational experiences, clear and concise messaging, and believes in engaging all people in the process of reflection to enhance their learning further. Â Nicole enthusiastically teaches medical students the power of mindfulness, empathy, active listening skills, and breathwork through her role as facilitator in Communication Skills for Medicine.
With an unwavering drive toward innovation, Kylie embodies the essence of a pioneering leader in the realm of wellbeing science. With two decades of experience working across both health and education sectors, she has drawn on her knowledge and experience to forge a new path as Co-Founder of ConnectedLE, a health education company tackling the big issues affecting mental wellbeing. The organisation crafts bespoke micro-credential courses designed for various settings – from schools and tertiary residential colleges to healthcare, social assistance, community, aged care sector, and rural and remote health promotion. The unique offerings of ConnectedLE represent a fusion of humanised learning through storytelling, strategic use of behaviour science tools, and insightful data exploration, delivered via an intuitive LMS platform.
Kylie also continues in her role as Director of Healthy Futures, working across the health sector including leading service redesign, performance improvement and change management projects that focus on wide scale health system improvement, and adoption of new models of care in practice. She contributes to the scientific community as Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at both UQ-Mater Research Institute and JCU-Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health. These roles enable her to stay attuned with her passion for mental health education while contributing to progressive health system reforms.

Dr Nicole Simpson graduated from her medical studies in 2016. Prior to this she completed her undergraduate degree and honours in Psychology in 2009, and has several years experience working in the field of organisational psychology.
Nicole is a generalist who values a wide variety of knowledge and experience in life. Since graduating medicine she has worked in clinical medicine and medical education, as well as continuing some work in the field of organisational psychology.

Professor McConnell is an American Neurologist and Psychiatrist living in Australia. He has worked at a senior level in Centres of Excellence in the USA and UK and has also consulted to the United Nations, National Institutes of Health (USA) and to many national and state governments.
Professor McConnell has authored many key textbooks and international guidelines in his field and was an editor at BMJ Clinical Evidence, the most widely used source of evidence-based medicine internationally, and of the Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines, the most widely accepted international guidelines in Psychiatry.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.
