Kylie has over 25 years of experience in the health sector as Director of Healthy Futures Australia and various roles in the primary health care sector. She has previously worked in academic settings following completion of her PhD, including appointment as Executive Office of the Griffith Health Institute. As a former health and physical education and STEM secondary teacher, Kylie credits her strong foundations of teaching and learning as the building blocks for her future career. Fast forward to 2013, Kylie took on the challenge of establishing St Margaret’s College, a tertiary residential college on the grounds of St Margaret’s Anglican Girls in Brisbane. After overseeing its rebranding as Durack College in 2017, and with her itching to return to her passion for health reform, Kylie stepped aside with mixed emotions as it was one of the most fulfilling roles she had ever pursued.
Most recently, Kylie, as Executive Manager, Planning and Health Intelligence at Western Queensland Primary Health Network (WQPHN), led the co-design and development of the Five-year Plan (2021-2026) to improve Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Alcohol and other Drug Treatment Services in Western Queensland. Her passion stems from personal lived experience insights and the wealth of knowledge she has gained from her research and engagement with people who have been impacted by a fragmented health system.
Kylie has worked on a number of statewide and national projects focused on large-scale health systems change and reform, integrated service delivery models, together with experience working in some of the most remote Indigenous communities in Queensland. Kylie believes in the power of lived experience education to change, if not transform, people’s lives as users gain new insights into how awareness builds competency.
Kylie completed doctoral studies investigating the impacts of exercise on women with postnatal depression and continues to contribute to the scientific community in her role as Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at both the University of Queensland – Mater Research Institute and James Cook University (JCU) – Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH).

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
